I had high hopes when Obama was elected; now it just looks like another "politics as usual" scenario. When he stripped out vital insurance benefits from Medical/Medicare eg: prescriptions and an entire dental component, it blew my mind. Not even Bush did that. In fact, it looks like there's going to be even further eviscerations to the poor and disabled. It's like he's juggling the budget on our backs. All he really had to do was repeal the tax breaks for the rich that have been in place for all too long. But no, he doesn't want to risk losing financial backing. I only hope he's not the Democratic candidate in 2012. Although it may come down to voting the "lesser of two evils," I am totally not looking forward to it.
